Pirates of the Caribbean and The Office actor target="_blank">Mackenzie Crook has declared his interest in the Doctor Who job, should it be going free at any point in the future. According to Digitial Spy, the blond actor with his trademark unusual looks also revealed that he could have appeared in the show already, but due to other commitments this wasn't possible. Crook has been considered for roles in the series in the past, but said they did not work out due to other...

News: Destiny of the Daleks DVD Cover

Posted: 26 Oct 2007 04:57 AM CDT

The BBC and 2entertain have released the cover design for the November release, Destiny of the Daleks. Designed by Lee Binding, the cover can only be described as "disco", as Daleks, Davros, Doctor, Romana and disco superstars the Movellans vie for cover supremacy. Naturally it is the Daleks who win out, just as they do in the story, deadlocked in a battle for power with the android Movellans, and deciding that their only way out is to resurrect their creator Davros... You can find...

Editorial Change...

Posted: 26 Oct 2007 04:18 AM CDT

Due to a variety of reasons, regular readers will notice a change to the Kasterborous news pages - indeed the changes have already occurred.

While not something that will cause a major shift, it is worth reporting to our readers as something that will impact on Kasterborous' performance, and hopefully improve our positioning with the search engines still further.

Traditionally, news items have comprised of one (on occasions two) main items, to be followed by a pile of other less important news items. Of course, this isn't perfect...

Readers miss information, and to get it all they need to make an effort to read a whole page of text... not a perfect way to dig out the relevant details, is it?

We've also used this approach until now in order to even out the page layout, but thanks to the upcoming Kasterborous redesign, we don't need to worry about this fact too much.

So from now on (well, for a few days, in fact), news items are about what they headline reports (unless otherwise titled as "Roundup", etc).

I and the rest of the Kasterborous triumverate are sure this will improve your experience of our news page, and hope you have a nice weekend.

podKast 4 is available to download if you haven't heard it yet, with podKast 5 due very, very soon... Forum members can listen here, or visit our FanZone

The Thing About Lost Boys...

Posted: 26 Oct 2007 03:08 AM CDT

Thanks to a BBC Press Release we know have a short synopsis covering episode nine, the first part of "The Lost Boy" adventure. You can read the extract below - in invisotext to 'protect' any spoilerphobes out there. Run your mouse over the text and right click to highlight...

Sarah Jane and the gang face some old alien enemies again, along with an altogether unexpected foe, in the final two-part adventure of the series.

A news report on a couple looking for their missing son, Ashley, brings a surprise for Sarah Jane when she discovers that the missing boy looks exactly like Luke. And when Mr Smith, Sarah Jane's super-computer, confirms that Luke is a genetic match with Ashley, Sarah Jane sends him back to live with his "parents".

But, with no knowledge of his former life, Luke finds it hard to fit in and, when he tries to escape, he makes a startling discovery about who his parents really are.

Sarah Jane, meanwhile, makes some investigations into the Pharos Para-Science Institute – a research unit that has been conducting experiments using alien technology.

Floella Benjamin guest stars as Professor Rivers in this episode, which is written by Phil Ford.

"The Lost Boy" airs November/December - when all our questions will be answered.

In unrelated news, the ratings are in for this week's episodes. "Warrior of Kudlax - Part One" secured 1.o Million viewers on BBC One. The second half, which aired immediately after part one over on the CBBC Channel, was watched by 0.234 Million people. There wasn't a big enough selection of viewers to produce any AI data this week.

Don't forget that Lis Sladen will be signing copies of the SJA audio adventures in London (the Borders store on Oxford Street, to be exact). Pop along; buy a copy of the two CDs and get to meet and greet Miss Sladen. Sounds like a fair deal to me!

If you attend the signing, send your reports here.
