| News: The Next Doctor Feature in Radio Times Posted: 29 Nov 2008 10:45 AM CST The Next Doctor is featured in the new Radio Times, with a gatefold cover shared by David Morrissey, David Tennant, Dervla Kirwan - and some Cybermen. But as the Radio Times ask - Who's The Doctor? (Click here for a look at the cover) The cover is accompanied by a behind the scenes feature and interviews with the cast. Of note are the words of Russell T Davies, which indicate that there's more to Morrissey's "Doctor" than we're lead to believe. “Hopefully, that creates a... | ||
| Posted: 29 Nov 2008 10:25 AM CST Doctor Who Executive Producer and showrunner Russell T Davies has been to Buckingham Palace to collect his OBE. Not only that, he's found time to tell the world that he hasn't a clue who the 11th Doctor will be played by. Of the OBE - presented by the Prince of Wales, with whom he later chatted for some time, Davies said: "Writers are the lifeblood of a lot of stuff that gets made. So I was really honoured to accept it on behalf of everyone slaving away at keyboards." And on... | ||
| News: Connie Fisher - Companion? Posted: 29 Nov 2008 10:15 AM CST Star of recent West End run of The Sound of Music (and winner of the BBC's How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria) Connie Fisher is reprising her role as the singing nun at the Wales Millenium Centre - and would like to stay in South Wales... Yes - it's the second hottest job in British television drama, and the natural-looking Connie Fisher fancies travelling through space and time as the Doctor's companion. “I’m a massive Doctor Who fan and I would love to be Doctor... | ||
| Posted: 29 Nov 2008 08:41 AM CST The great Welsh character actor Philip Madoc is appearing onstage in The Holly and the Ivy at Southport Arts Centre - and as with anyone connected to Doctor Who (however remote) he's been asked about who the next Doctor might be. Let's get this out of the way first - he's a great actor, responsible for some of the greatest portrayals in Doctor Who's long history. My favourite is the deranged Mehendri Solon in The Brain of Morbius - but of course he's been in the show a few times. So why not... | ||
| News: David Morrissey on Doctor Who Posted: 29 Nov 2008 08:41 AM CST Speaking to the Radio Times, David Morrissey has revealed one or two things about filming a Christmas Doctor Who, and how he would feel about being cast in the role... While the presence of classic foes the Cybermen in The Next Doctor raised his game, Morrissey is uncomfortable acting against nothing... “The difficulty for me is green screen - trying to create a relationship with something that isn’t there," Morrissey told the Radio Times about the devices, which are used... | ||

| Posted: 28 Nov 2008 12:00 PM CST With Tony Mk 2 having left the building, and Tony Mk 1 still out due to illness, Michael from the Tin Dog podcast joins Trevor this episode to keep him company and talk through the mountain of Doctor Who news, reviews and interviews. The boys spend some time and provide their thoughts on the DVD Boxset release of the Trial of a Timelord. They review the stories, provide their thoughts on the extras, and ponder over a period in Who history where the show was facing one of its most difficult challenges. Trevor has a chat with the co-author of The Writer's Tale, Benjamin Cook. The Writer's Tale, co-authored with outgoing Executive Producer Russell T Davies, is a warts and all look at the making of Season 4 Doctor Who. Trevor talks to Ben about the book, his love of Doctor Who, and just what you will have in store if you pick up a copy of the book. We always find time for the news, and Michael has gathered a veritable cornucopia of news, rumours and gossip from around the globe. So dive right into the DWO WhoCast episode 98, the waters warm! MP3 feedback is always preferred, send it in to feedback@thewhocast.com. It's your show, and we want to be sure we can make it the best we can for you. There's also got news on a terrifying new addition to the Doctor Who exhibition at London's Earls Court, plus competition tickets up for grabs! And they look back at the first time... | ||
