| Posted: 24 Dec 2008 08:31 AM CST Now this is what I call a lady on a mission - Velile Tschabala, who we will meet on Christmas Day as Rosita (the companion to The Next Doctor) has revealed how her career took a nosedive in the months before her casting in Doctor Who. In fact things got so bad that the only paid work she could get was cleaning toilets, a detail that tha Daily Mail seems to totally love. There is of course nothing wrong with cleaning toilets. Most toilet cleaners however don't moonlight as actors... | ||
| News: Russell T Davies Christmas Picks Posted: 24 Dec 2008 08:20 AM CST Grand Overlord of Doctor Who Russell T Davies has given his thoughts on what Christmas 2008's Christmas highlights will be in The Times. However with words and words about Harry Hill's TV Burp, EastEnders, Wallace and Gromit and Strictly Come Dancing he manages to have a rant about the smoking ban... “Well, you can’t smoke anywhere civilised these days, can you?” Davies says, lighting up the first of approximately 15 cigarettes, “it’s always funny when you go... | ||

| Posted: 24 Dec 2008 05:14 AM CST Having arrived home from Bath at 10pm on Christmas Eve before wrapping my presents I just wanted to say a very Happy Christmas to anyone who is mad enough to want to log on to my blog over the Christmas period! When I say "mad" - it is a flattering 'madness' that you should even think about me at Christmas! I have been panto driven for the last two weeks having gone straight from Noises Off, via Chicago, into rehearsals for Jack and the Beanstalk - but I wanted to be sure to thank you all for your support and interest over the last few years and a special thank you to the wonderful, uncomplaining and diligent Rob Cope for keeping this website so informative and interesting even though I am not always that good at keeping him informed. To Rob and to all of you - thanks and have a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS! Come and see me in Bath until the 25th January if you have the chance - it is a fun panto and everyone in it is both good and lovely! More after Christmas - I promise!!! Colin | ||

| Posted: 23 Dec 2008 05:42 AM CST Russell T Davies has reminded the world that the four specials in 2009 (and later...?) will see the Doctor travelling alone - which means new companions! There's plenty of talent to choose from of course, and it also gives Davies - who contributes to each of the specials scripts - the chance to play around with the companion role, and the types of character the Doctor takes with him. "We’ve got a young female companion at Easter, and then a much older woman next... |
