Scottish writer Simon Farquhar is researching the legendary incident when Tom Baker stopped off at an unsuspecting family's house in Preston, Lancashire to catch an episode of Doctor Who during his reign as the Fourth Doctor. Robin Hood Available for Pre-Order, Out from April

Big Finish is excited to announce a series of six talking books based on the BBC's hit series Robin Hood. Designed to be hour-long one-voice productions, each story will be read by a member of the original television cast.

The BBC's adaptation of the Robin Hood legend for its Saturday night drama slot has proven to be massively popular worldwide. With action and adventure galore, the series has revitalised the traditions of the story and opened it up for an entirely new young audience.

In an innovative move, Big Finish's series of talking books will tie closely into the third year of the show, reflecting the themes, plots and characters of the season as it unfolds. Each story will be available on CD, or as a download from www.bigfinish.com/robin-hood

Four actors from the series have lent their voices to the stories: Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood); Richard Armitage (Guy of Gisborne); Sam Troughton (Much) and David Harewood (Tuck) have all provided stunning performances that fans are sure to enjoy.

Series four of Doctor Who, transmitted last year on BBC One, has been shortlisted in the Best Drama Series category at the British Academy Television Awards (BAFTAs), the UK's most prestigious television accolades. This is the second time that the programme has been nominated for this award - series one was nominated and won the category at the 2006 ceremony. The BAFTA website shows that Doctor Who has been nominated alongside Channel 4's Shameless and BBC One stablemates Spooks and Wallander.

The British version of MSN reported that Doctor Who's Catherine Tate has landed a role in the new adaptation of Gulliver's Travels.

The site cites the British Sun tabloid newspaper. Tate is reportedly set to play the Queen of Lilliput. Jack Black is playing Lemuel Gulliver opposite Emily Blunt.

The movie, to be directed by Rob Letterman, is due to arrive in 2010.

The sound track for Planet of the Dead is being recorded by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales in their new home at BBC Hoddinott Hall, which is part of the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay.
