| News: RTD On Children of Earth Kids Posted: 01 Jul 2009 05:50 PM PDT RUssell T Davies is a permanent fixture across the UK media-focussed websites and has spent quiet a bit of time chatting with The Stage. They get through quite a bit of stuff in the first part of the interview (we'll come back to it later) and in amongst all of the reformatting, 5 parter with different writers and a a smaller Torchwood team chat RTD deals withe Midwich Cuckoos/Village of the Damned comparisons many have made. It’s a bit unfortunate that one of the kids is very blond!... | ||
| Posted: 01 Jul 2009 11:47 AM PDT We like Johnny Depp 'cause Johnny Depp likes Withnail! http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5i5Mb-TJhIwsVxziol... We love Gugu M'Batha-Raw (Martha's sister) too - she played Ophelia in this Donmar production of "Hamlet." I hope they let her appear in the Broadway transfer. It will never come to LA, though. Which sucks: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118005542.html?categoryId=15&cs=1&nid=... That's the big news of the day from me! | ||
| News: SJA Series 4 in Development Posted: 01 Jul 2009 10:09 AM PDT Russell T Davies has been very chatty of late, largely relaxing it seems in between trips to the USA and occasional chats about Torchwood: Children of Earth and the obligatory Doctor Who and Sarah Jane Adventures coverage. Chatting with Radio 4's Mark Lawson this week (available via BBC iPlayer), Russell T Davies revealed that only 4 weeks into filming of The Sarah Jane Adventures third series, a fourth is in development! Following discussion of Doctor Who as the central hub of the three... | ||

| Posted: 01 Jul 2009 09:43 AM PDT ...but which one? Thanks to Neill Cameron's latest project, The A-Z of Awesomeness, some marvellous comic book heroes are being thrown together in a Doctor Seuss-esque rhyming mashup - including of course our own Doctor Who in his tenth incarnation. Inspired by Garen Ewing’s A-Z of Comic Book Characters, Neill works on a letter each day - check out Monday's Peter Parker Playing Ping-Pong with Pikachu. It's a month-long project for Cameron and it's thrown up a few gems. You can check... | ||
| News: Aspects of the Eighth Doctor Posted: 01 Jul 2009 09:42 AM PDT Something fun now, Doctor Who related of course, concerning our great Eighth Doctor, Paul McGann... This is pretty cool - Paul McGann's showreel, used to demonstrate to potential casting agents and directors his immense versatility: Paul McGann Showreel from Katherine Lawson on Vimeo. | Posted: 01 Jul 2009 04:19 AM PDT I've got into an extraordinary groove in this hot weather, managing to put down a lot of word count, and do a lot of running. This is what I do in summer, when I'm in a continual state of jittery happiness, and make up for in winter, when I can barely twitch my toes and am generally miserable. Today, for instance, I wrote one of those big end of chapter reveals, which I've had in mind for about | ||

| Posted: 01 Jul 2009 12:32 AM PDT Right now, at the very second I'm writing this, the first of three new Torchwood radio adventures is about to go out to listeners in the UK. It's called "Asylum" and it's by award winning playwright Anita Sullivan, and stars John, Eve and Gareth - reuniting them with Tom Price as the returning PC Andy Davidson. The official synopsis: When PC Andy arrests a teenager for shoplifting, he thinks it is going to be a routine case. Then he sees the weapon she is carrying and decides to call in the Torchwood team. Under questioning from Gwen, the girl remembers her name but little else, and when she speaks it is in a strange mix of English and Scandinavian, but with a Cardiff accent. Then the girl's blood tests come through and the team is faced with a dilemma. I'm hearing a little time travel is involved... You can download the episode over the next 7 days on BBC's iPlayer service, and after that it'll be available through iTunes and on CD release sometime over the next few months. *** Don't forget that the latest issue of Torchwood: The Official Magazine is out now - with previews of Children of Earth, as well as interviews with the cast and crew, and various pieces of original fiction. You can pick it up from all good newsagents, priced £4.99. | ||
| News: Michelle Ryan Reads The Rising Night Posted: 30 Jun 2009 11:31 PM PDT Michelle Ryan reads this latest Doctor Who BBC Audio book featuring the solitary adventures of the Tenth Doctor, and has spoken to SFX about her vocal talents and David Tennant portrayal. Released on July 9th, The Rising Night is by Scott Handcock and is set in 18th Century Yorkshire in a rural village where the sun hasn’t risen for three weeks. Apparently at this stage, the Doctor arrives and teams up with local lass, Charity, to uncover what's going on. I'll tell you now without... | ||
