| Posted: 16 Oct 2007 10:26 AM CDT Christmas is just TEN WEEKS away, and lots of talk is of MP3 Barbie and Optimus Prime Voice Changer helmets taking Doctor Who's Christmas Crown... but certain pervy looking Dalek might have something to say... The Dalek Sec Voice Changer Mask looks rather more... adult than the Cyberman precursor, and is making waves in the blog world, with Gizmodo giving it the thumbs up (I think they were thumbs) Is this Dalek Sec Hybrid Voice Changer Mask better than an Optimus Prime Helmet? Of course... | ||
| Posted: 16 Oct 2007 09:44 AM CDT Ninth Doctor and Heroes guest star Christopher Eccleston has given a rare interview to the Daily Record, in which he talks about his work in the USA, and upcoming feature The Dark is Rising. In The Seeker: The Dark is Rising, Eccleston plays the evil Rider in the adaptation of Susan Cooper's acclaimed novel: "I'd never heard of the books, but as a child I was one of those who was hugely passionate about The Lord of the Rings. "I understand the passion people feel for these books, but... | ||

| Posted: 16 Oct 2007 06:38 AM CDT It had to happen some time - The Sarah Jane Adventures has been sold to a television network outside of the United Kingdom. Well, according to reports in the Sydney Sun-Herald anyroad. The paper states that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (which already airs brand new Doctor Who) will show the series sometime next year. There's been no official word from ABC either confirming or denying the story. Meanwhile the entire SJA team will be appearing on this Saturday's edition of TMI on BBC Two. The programme is part of CBBC's weekend line-up, and is a morning magazine in the same vein as "Live and Kicking" and "Dick and Dom In the Bungalow". It's hosted by Sam, Mark and Caroline, apparently... Next up, and the ratings are in for yesterday's episodes. Over on BBC One "Eye of the Gorgon - Part Two" had 1.0 million viewers watching, whereas there were 0.3 million people on hand to watch the first part of "Warriors of the Kudlax" on the CBBC Channel. A slight slip, but nothing to worry about (and hey, I missed "Kudlax" this week! Blame a tough filming schedule, and bad weather... I'll have to catch it on BBC One next week!) Lookaway now, spoilerphobes! The BBC have released a press release about part one of "Whatever Happened to Sarah-Jane?" - the fourth SJA adventure, which is due to air early next month. Highlight the invisable text below to read what to expect from the episode - which includes a face from the past... Sarah Jane mysteriously disappears – just as a huge meteor threatens to crash straight into Earth. When Maria wakes up one morning it's as though Sarah Jane – and Luke – never existed. Living across the road in Sarah Jane's house is a woman called Andrea. And, with the attic empty and Mr Smith nowhere to be seen, every other trace of Sarah Jane has vanished – and Maria is the only one able to remember her. With the mysterious, hooded figure of the Trickster haunting Bannerman Road and the alien Graske meddling in time, Maria sets out to discover whatever happened to Sarah Jane. But as her journey takes her back to 1964, will she be able to find Sarah Jane in time to stop the meteor from destroying the world? Jane Asher guest stars as Andrea Watson. Finally, the official Doctor Who site previews the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine (which is out later this week). In it, Elisabeth Sladen talks about the series finale, "The Lost Boy"... "All hell breaks loose! Sarah Jane tries to do the right thing, but then someone shows her something... and it's not the right thing. There's someone else who knows about the shenanigans in the attic. And Sarah Jane gets the shock of her life, too! When Russell first suggested The Sarah Jane Adventures, I wondered where they could take her, but she's opened up and I've absolutely relished that. I loved that period of finding things in Sarah Jane, and it's all come back. I'm so pleased." And so are we, Lis! More news as it comes in... | ||

| Tuesday’s news round-up: Kirk, Who, Sarah Jane and heroes in a half shell Posted: 16 Oct 2007 05:43 AM CDT NEWS! Chris Pine became the frontrunner to squeeze into Captain Kirk's yellow sweater last week, and now he's been all-but-confirmed as the new captain of the Enterprise. Director Joe Carnahan, who had Pine lined up to star in his James Ellroy adaptation White Jazz, said on his blog that the actor has opted to become the next William Shatner. If this proves to be true, then JJ Abrams just has to find a Dr McCoy – Lord of the Rings' Karl Urban is the current favourite. Thanks to Sci Fi Wire. NEWS! NEWS! TURTLES! | ||

| Posted: 15 Oct 2007 09:05 PM CDT Just having a look over at young Marks Tardis & Torchwood Treasures, and it seems that Lis Sladen is going to be doing some signings! The one listed is at Borders, Oxford Street, London on Saturday October 27th. I have been digging to see if this is part of a tour, but the Borders website doesn't list anything yet. Darn them. If anyone hears anything else, please do drop us a line! Hope you are enjoying the series as much as we are! | ||

| Posted: 15 Oct 2007 08:56 PM CDT The Sun has reported alleged details from the upcoming Christmas Special "Voyage of the Damned", starring David Tennant and Kylie Minogue. In the past, the Sun has reported some accurate plot details about Doctor Who scripts (such as a 2005 report that the Daleks and Cybermen would face off, as they did in the episode "Doomsday") and has also printed some stories which proved to be false (such as a 2006 report that Zoe Lucker would be playing the... | ||
