Mark Thompson, the director general of the BBC, has announced plans for major cuts at the BBC, including the sale of Television Centre by the end of the 2012-2013 financial year. The complex was the world's first purpose-built TV studio and the home of Doctor Who production from 1966-89. New Doctor Who shop for Norwich

Norwich gets a new Science Fiction shop, offering Doctor Who products a plenty!

The guys over at The Stamp Centre / Scifi Collector have just unveiled a brand new Television and Movie merchandise store in Norwich. Aptly titled 'The Television and Movie Store', the shop is located in the sought-after Millennium Plain area of Norwich city centre, in the location of the old BBC Shop.

Although the BBC Shop is gone, The Television and Movie store will continue in its place to sell DVDs, Books & CDs. Special offers and heavy discounts are available in-store to tie-in with the stores opening.

As an added bonus, Tom Baker will be formally opening the store in November.

The Television and Movie Store is open to the public 7 days a week on the run up to Christmas.
