News: Billie's Bovvered

Posted: 01 Jan 2008 08:08 AM CST

Former Doctor Who co-star Billie Piper has expressed some concern about her return to Doctor Who late in Series 4, according to reports. The newlywed actress is set to return for at least one episode - alongside Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate - and very likely the series finale. Piper married actor Laurence Fox yesterday at 2pm, giving hope to all plain, lanky streaks everywhere that they too can pull a hottie. Of course as she's already been seen on set, this quote must be some...

One Year Gone

Posted: 01 Jan 2008 03:44 AM CST

Whoa! Was it really one year ago today that the very first episode of "The Sarah Jane Adventures" aired on BBC One? Looking back and remembering "Invasion of the Bane" makes me feel old... very old! My life has changed a hell of a lot since then (as readers of my blog will know) and we've had a full, brilliant, ten part run of the SJA since then!

Sorry about the lack of updates recently; there's been very little news to report regarding the SJA! We still haven't heard about an official confirmation of a second series, and all we've got to go off over the next few months is the special edition DVD release of "The Five Doctors" (coming in March) and the possibility of Elisabeth Sladen appearing alongside Billie Piper, Freema Agyeman and Catherine Tate in the next series of Doctor Who.

Still, hope you had a great Christmas and an even better start to 2008. Over the next couple of days I'll be posting the results of the Sonic Lipstick Awards (of which we had some very interesting winners!) and then, throughout the new year, me and everybody else at SJ.tv will continue to report all things Sarah Jane Smith.

Toodles, and see you all again soon!

(Not) End of Days

Posted: 01 Jan 2008 03:06 AM CST

We made it; we survived 2007, the year that Torchwood wasn't. A year that, one year ago, seemed like it would last forever, because - barring the New Year's Day double bill finale of "Captain Jack Harkness" and "End of Days" - saw no new episode of Torchwood broadcast. Remember when we learnt that the show wouldn't be back until Jaunary 2008 at the earliest? Ooh, the fan anguish! We had twelve months to wait, and that really wouldn't do.

Twelve months on from Captain Jack's mysterious exit from the Hub, and we're now just weeks away from the show's return - a return we've waited so very long for. Enjoy the ride these next few months; we've got all sorts of things coming our way. Returning companions. Ex-time Agents. Soldiers (and quite a few of 'em!). Wedding crashers. Weevils. And poodles, too - but that's one for Captain John to enjoy.

Have a great New Year's Day, and stick with Torchwood.tv throughout 2008 for all the latest news on Torchwood series two, and beyond!
