News: John Barrowman on Torchwood 3

Posted: 29 Aug 2008 08:37 AM CDT

Yesterday everyone's favourite West End showman and Whoniverse star John Barrowman dropped in on Steve Wright's Radio Two show to discuss Torchwood, Doctor Who and his future projects. (You can still listen to this on BlogtorWho.com). In it he revealed that although Torchwood has been shooting for around two weeks, he's only so far done about three days filming. He also noted that the production sees Torchwood series 3 as "like a mini series to make an impact for the new viewers we're...

SFX interview Anjli Mohindra!

Posted: 29 Aug 2008 02:47 AM CDT

A few weeks ago, SFX magazine popped over to Penarth and had the oppurtunity to interview SJA newcomer, Anjli Mohindra; who'll be playing Rani Chandra in series two this September.

On joining the cast, she feels totally "part of the team" and stated that it's been "fantastic coming into a group of mates that are already formed, but welcome other people in as friends."

She goes on to discuss how her character gets inducted into Sarah Jane's inner-circle: "I kind of have a bit of a nosey into the lives of the world-saving team and kind of butt my way in!"

When asked what she thought of SJA, she stated that "with children's TV, it's normally quite patronising, but not with this at all. There's no 'moral of the day' at the end of every story, it's just completely the same as Doctor Who, and adults can watch it as well..."

Festival Prize

Posted: 28 Aug 2008 07:38 PM CDT

Once again, Doctor Who has been named as the top show of 2008. The highest profile industry event on the British calendar is of course the Edinburgh International Television Festival.

It was at that event that the series won Best Programme of 2008, for the second year running.

And of course, the award adds to the ridiculous tally of trophies that Doctor Who has received since 2005.

I
doubt whether anyone outside of BBC Wales is keeping a tally, but on an
average of 12 a year (which includes the rather vulgar ceremonies of
rags like TV Quick) we reckon Doctor Who has chocked up between 45 and
50 awards for acting, writing and various aspects of production as well
as being the nation's most loved show.

That's a pretty good comeback, but also testament to how the show is part of the British cultural fabric.

As you may already be aware, Sarah Jane Adventures Series 2 will see some changing around of the main characters, with Maria Jackson and her father moving away from Sarah Jane Smith's neighbourhood. Apparently this is due to exams, with young actress Yasmin Page being ready to sit her GCSEs during shooting of Series 2; similarly, Luke Smith actor Tommy Knight is set to sit a lot of GCSEs in 2009 which may affect his presence should production on Series 3 be underway by then. My name is Tina Cott and i would like to show you my personal experience with Yasmin 28.

I am 28 years old. Have been on Yasmin 28 for 4 years now. I am no longer going to be taking any hormones. this is the worst thing you can do. unfortunately, it's the easiest birth control but it's not worth the pain i've been through. and what's the point of it, by making you abstain? i hardly ever wanted sex anymore. i wish i could get those 4 years back.

I have experienced some of these side effects -
loss of sex drive, severe mood swings.

I hope this information will be useful to others,
