The recently released Classic Series Doctor Who adventure; The War Games, has topped the WH Smith Top 35 DVD Chart holding position #1. The 3-disc set which has been hailed by fans as one of the best releases from DVD manufacturer; 2|entertain to date, hit the shops on 6th July priced £24.99. This is also the first time that 7 titles have made it into the charts at one time. | Posted: 11 Jul 2009 02:10 AM PDT Children of Earth 'survivors' John Barrowman and Eve Myles are moving away from Torchwood for the time being (?) to head up a couple of individual projects. Firstly, Eve Myles will be appearing alongside Trevor Eve in a new BBC One drama commission, titled Framed. According to DigitalSpy, "the programme, adapted from Frank Cottrell Boyce's best-selling children's novel, sees a secretive convoy of men invade a Welsh village." It's expected to air this Winter on the BBC. Also coming up, John Barrowman will be travelling across the globe as part of this year's Children in Need extravaganza Around the World in 80 Days. Various celebrities will be paired up, and travel segments of the world together. John's partner is the ever lovely (if boring...) Myleene Klass. Other celebs taking part include Lee Mack and Frank "I'm funny me, honest" Skinner. ETA - October/November. *** 5.8 million viewers (26.7% of the available audience) saw the last part of the Children of Earth serial on BBC One last night, making it the 4th most watched programme of the day. A Space Adventure Show; a Hardcore science fiction show; an Earth Invasion show; more recently a Love Story from Beyond the Stars show... even a James Bond from Space show. The one that seems to get little attention these days is the "Historical Adventure" show.
