| News: A Role for X Factor's Cole? Posted: 04 Nov 2009 01:11 PM PST A part in Doctor Who for Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole? That's certainly the claim of The Mirror today - and they're giving the impression that this would be an acting role... Apparently no deal has been signed - hardly a surprise. Any appearance is more than likely to be a Barbara Windsor-style cameo for the lady currently top of the UK singles and album charts. According to the Mirror: ...show executives think Cheryl, 26, could play a big part in their new series. An... | ||
| Reviews: Doctor Who: Annual 2010 Posted: 04 Nov 2009 12:57 PM PST The arrival of the Doctor Who Annual for 2010 brought back many happy childhood memories to me. Those sepia coloured moments recalling where time spent during Boxing Days, dressed in gaudy coloured pyjamas, stuffing my face with chocolate and tangerines and my head stuck between the covers of that years Doctor Who Annual. These days the annual (or yearbook as it was once called) is a lot more polished than it was in my day and is more reliant on the TV series as well. The content here focuses... | ||

| Dreamland: Saturday, November 21st. Posted: 04 Nov 2009 09:45 AM PST
We're delighted that we can at last confirm that Dreamland will debut on Red Button and on this site on Saturday, November 21st. As we've already confirmed, it's a six part adventure, and details about individual episodes are starting to emerge... details below. Is this the kind of story that you were expecting? What do you think are going to be the dramatic highlights? And after reading these details, are there any characters or creatures you're really looking forward to seeing? Episode 1 Dry Springs, Nevada, 1958. The Doctor befriends a young waitress, Cassie, and her friend, Jimmy, at a diner. The Doctor activates an alien artefact and, after finding further signs of alien activity, the US Army intervenes and takes him and his new companions to the mysterious Area 51 in Roswell, where they find out about Operation Fallen Angel. Will Operation leader Colonel Stark succeed in making the curious trio forget what they have just seen? Episode 2 Seeking refuge in the abandoned town of Solitude, Jimmy stumbles across a disconcerting discovery and the trio encounter Viperox royalty. Episode 3 The Doctor cannot understand why the Alliance of Shades' mop-up team are more concerned with the whereabouts of a piece of space flight hardware than the hordes of Viperox pods hidden underground. Things start to fall into place when Jimmy's grandfather, Night Eagle, introduces the Doctor to Rivesh Mantilax. Episode 4 Captured by the US Army, Rivesh is finally reunited with his wife, Saruba Velak. Meanwhile, the Doctor discovers the unsettling truth about his real identity. Episode 5 The Doctor and Saruba have to confront the mysterious alien force in the vault housing her space ship if they are to save her husband and stop Lord Azlok from rousing his sleeping army. Episode 6 As sunset falls, the Viperox drones start to attack the US Army base. Can the Doctor find a way to halt the seemingly unstoppable aliens in their tracks? | ||

| Posted: 03 Nov 2009 11:49 PM PST This is totally one of the best things ever - an autonomous Lego Dalek built at the recent Over the Air hackathon held at Imperial College proves that there are plenty of reasons for the BBC to negotiate a Doctor Who themed relationship with the toy brick manufacturer. Built by Adam Cohen-Rose using Lego's programmable Mindstorm kit, the Dalek made enough of an impression to be featured on BBC News. "I only got the Mindstorm kit the day before Over the Air," he laughed as he... | ||
