| Posted: 02 May 2011 06:34 AM PDT New Meme's for Torchwood: Miracle Day have been popping up everywhere in ancitipation of the shows return to our screens this summer- following on from the eighth of a second footage from the BBC 's Original British Drama trailer. First up John Horatio Barrowman has been chatting to Laura Saltman on the appallingly Brass-Eye titled Dish of Salt for Access Hollywood. Talking on set Barrowman let slip that fans will need to be there every week as the drama unfolds to keep up with the plot and that Captain Jack's bedroom antics won't be toned down for the shows debut on Starz. Which seems like an odd question when cable networks are far more liberally minded when it comes to adult content and that Starz's, the network co-producing Torchwood with BBC Worldwide, is the home of Spartacus: Boobs and Sand. Another clip, this time from Worldscreen.com with Executive Producer Julie Gardner and star Bill Pullman (Independence Day) joining Barrowman (who's a massive ham in this video) to chat about the 'onscreen value' brought by Starz involvement and, more intriguingly, a little snippet of just who Pullman's character Oswald Danes (a child molester who survives his own execution) is, and what happens around him. Torchwood: Miracle Day is set to air simultaneously on BBC One in the UK and on the Starz Network in the US in July. | ||

It is a score out of 100 based on responses from a 5,000 strong panel. On BBC Three an additional 0.54 million viewers caught the Sunday repeat with 0.07 million watching on BBC HD. | Ratings Crash? What Rating Crash? Posted: 01 May 2011 10:19 PM PDT As expected by Doctor Who fans and people who don't believe everything they read in the newspapers, The Impossible Astronaut's final audience figures have been released by BARB – and they have a nice ring to them! The initial overnight figures (7.4 million) have been massively enhanced by people watching recordings within the first week (note that this does not include BBC iPlayer) and as many suspected, the Doctor Who watching public are tech savvy enough to manage Sky+ or whatever delayed viewing method they are using to push The Impossible Astronaut up to a Bank Holiday-breaking 8.86 million viewers. In case you're interested, that is a hefty 43.3% of the viewing audience. Previous series have had similar figures: New Earth managed 8.6 million, Smith And Jones 8.7m and Partners In Crime 9.1 million, so things are going pretty much as per normal. Whatever you might think of Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, he currently seems just as popular as his predecessor David Tennant. You can all move along now – there is nothing to see here except the most imaginative and daring series of Doctor Who yet…

| Posted: 01 May 2011 08:51 PM PDT Christopher Eccleston (remember him? He played the Ninth Doctor what seems like a lifetime ago, before emergency temporal shifts and The Silence were even heard of) has answered a few personal questions for the Guardian newspapers article series, "This much I know". Talking about his career, his family and his likes and dislikes, Eccleston is surprisingly open as he bares all about his life. For a few examples, the actor talks about his approach to a roles and how he gets into the mindset for the characters that he plays:
But of course, like any good actor, he can get quite invested in a role which results in a little emotional spillover when he leaves the set, but that can always be remedied when the actor has some time to himself:
And naturally as a man who has played the role of the good Doctor, he's a beacon and an idol for children and adults alike, especially young children who may have a slight wobble when meeting their hero:
For more revealing truths from the actor visit The Guardian to see all his answers in full. Eccleston stars with Chiwetel Ejiofor in The Shadow Line this Thursday on BBC Two.

| Posted: 01 May 2011 06:10 PM PDT The Metro, the UK based paper that mysteriously appears on transport vessels around the country to inform passengers of yesterday's news have scoured Twitter to gauge the response to this week's OMG! WHAT? episode of Doctor Who. In addition, #DoctorWho and related phrases were trending high on Saturday following Day of the Moon, confirming that while initial audience figures might be low, they're not indicative of reputation… Top of the tweets was the flirtatious, gun-toating River Song who in those two afforementioned traits has earned the title Awesome: MeganCumberwire tweeted (incidentally i've linked to her Twitter page so you can see that the Metro didn't make it up (well apart from nickhughes23) – they just stole them and didn't link back to it themselves):
She is indeed. And furthering her claims to awesome, Daniel_H_UK also commented:
Awesome. As well as River meeting the requirements for a geek-crush fans were also quick to heap praise on what's shaping up to be the strongest start since the COUGH…Ultimate Regeneration…COUGH. Haras3232 commented:
While infinite_walrus hurled much deserved adjectives at the show:
Feel free to tweet these people and thank them for their awesome insight into Day of the Moon. Don't forget that you can also follow and tweet Kasterborous for the latest Doctor Who news… |
