| Posted: 15 Mar 2008 07:36 AM CDT Torchwood's second series finale, "Exit Wounds", airs on Friday 4th April - and the BBC Press Office has released the following information. Look away now, as there's considerable spoilers! "Captain John Hart returns to have his revenge on Torchwood. Taking Captain Jack prisoner, he sends him back in time for a long overdue reunion. Without their leader, Torchwood are faced with a city flooded with Weevils, on the brink of destruction. But who is Captain John really working for? Can anyone trust him? And how great a price must Torchwood pay to save the city?" I've hear it off the grapevine that (highlight to reveal) the episode concludes the "Gray" storyline - Jack's younger brother shows up, and all hell breaks loose. Apparently not all the Torchwood team survive events, although who might be heading for the chopping board, I'm not saying! Whilst we're on the subject of spoilers, some Doctor Who series four news - look away now if you don't want to be ruined! Thursday evening/early Friday morning, John Barrowman was on the Doctor Who set, filming scenes for the two part series finale - which also features David Tennant (the Doctor), Billie Piper (Rose Tyler), Camille Coduri (Jackie Tyler), Noel Clarke (Mickey Smith, plus writer of Torchwood episode "Combat"), Freema Agyeman ("Martha Jones"), Elisabeth Sladen ("Sarah Jane Smith"), Catherine Tate ("Donna Noble") and, of course, Daleks! The scenes recorded saw the Doctor being exterminated by a Dalek; and Jack lead the injured Time Lord back to his TARDIS. Doctor Who's fourth season kicks off in April. | ||

| Posted: 15 Mar 2008 05:08 AM CDT Obituary: Walter Howarth It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Walter Howarth. Walter was best known to Doctor Who fans for illustrating some of the classic Doctor Who annuals including the very first annual in 1965. He later went on to produce illustrations for other successful brands such as Dempsey and Makepiece, John Wayne and Bonanza. DWO would like to extend its sympathies to Walter's friends and family. | Posted: 14 Mar 2008 10:52 PM CDT On World Book Day, March 6th, I was very pleased to open a new library at the Thomas Reade School in Abingdon. To perplex future generations, a plaque with my name on it now offends the wall there. I was tremendously enthused by the school itself, which seems vibrant and forward-looking, and now the children there have hundreds of entirely new, and entirely apt, books to choose from. Very | ||
