Kopic's Doctor Who & Torchwood News |
| Some credence to an insider... Posted: 02 Jun 2008 02:30 PM CDT OK... A few weeks ago this blog was abuzz with the rumors posted by "BBCINSIDER." He/she said the following: "It seems that cos of JBs hectic schedule - Torchwood has finished for now in its present state. What will be filmed however, and later than normal, are 5 stand alone episodes. AND THEN THAT WILL BE IT !!!" Here is a bonafide article from TVGUIDE that confirms SOME of the insider's comments: They say: 'Fans, however, may not be so happy with the mere five hours slated for next season. "We've decided to do a five-part mini-series, one big story that will run during one week,' says Gardner, adding, "I wanted to make a really big noise about the show."So far, the BBC has only green lit these five hours, but there could be more, we're told. " So this we can confirm, as of now the 5 episodes are legit... As for it being the end, I am not so sure... neither is TVGUIDE, but I would want to avoid speculation at this point... We'll have to wait and see. So for now, to respond to the many queries, we know that some of the comments are true, and confirmed. For the full TVGUIDE article click here. | ||

| News: Catherine Tate in Under the Blue Sky Posted: 02 Jun 2008 10:43 AM CDT Opening on 25 July at the Duke of York's Theatre in London's West End, Under the Blue Sky stars Catherine Tate in a cast list that includes Francesca Annis and Chris O'Dowd. David Eldridge's play is both funny and touching - three subtly connected love stories that reveal in turn the roller-coaster ride of lust in its prime, the sacrifices of a life in public service and unrequited passions. In the long shadow of the twentieth century, Eldridge's play gives us an all too recognisable... | ||
| News: Tate Talks out of her Bottom Posted: 02 Jun 2008 10:28 AM CDT Doctor Who co-star Catherine Tate has had a varied career, from becoming a queen of British Comedy to having also worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company. As a result of her impact on comedy - as well no doubt spurred on by her success in season 30 of Doctor Who, the actress was invited to Powys literary festival to discuss Shakespeare, and in particular his comedies - where she revealed that she struggled to enjoy the Bard's comedies at times. "It's got to strike a chord with... | ||
| Posted: 02 Jun 2008 09:11 AM CDT Our Pest Control competition closed on Saturday, Midnight UK time, and I would first of all like to thank everyone who took part, and for all of your comments in support of Kasterborous - it means a lot to all of us! The answer to the question "Who destroyed Gallifrey first - Russell T Davies or Peter Angelhides" was, of course, Peter Angelhides, who with Steve Cole wrote The Ancestor Cell in 2000 (which featured the Eighth Doctor resorting to the apparentaly permanent destruction of Gallifrey in order to thwart the Faction Paradox). The whole competition was a very nice gift to us from a very charming lady at BBC Audiobooks, of course, so many thanks to them! For the full list of winners, visit the Kasterborous forum Thanks again to everyone who took part! | ||
| News: Silence in the Library Newsround Posted: 02 Jun 2008 08:06 AM CDT What better way to start than putting it all into context with some comments from NJ.com about the Sontaran story that neatly describe how I feel about the show, especially the last sentence... We still have quite a lot of season four to go, but I'm hopeful that when it's over I'll be able to look back on this Sontaran storyline as the low point. Because other than a few isolated moments with Donna and Martha, these episodes left me very cold. I know that "Doctor Who" is a show that's... | ||
| Silence in the Library - AI and Digital Ratings Posted: 02 Jun 2008 12:27 AM CDT Episode eight of series four, The Silence in the Library, was the most appreciated programme on any of the four main channels on Saturday with an Appreciation Index of 89. It was the highest score for series four and equal to the highest score for the programme for all time. Sundays highest rating was 5.4 million, so Doctor Who is still the 28th most watched programme of the week. This position is likely to rise when corrected figures, including... | ||
