Kopic's Doctor Who & Torchwood News |
| Posted: 27 Jun 2008 12:21 PM CDT Yeah, I was kinda surprised... and when I say 'surprised', I mean it! SyfyPortal have announcd the nominations for their annual Genre Awards... and Torchwood.tv is up for the "Best Website" award - alongside Whedonesque.com, Sci-Fi Wire, Supernaturaltv.com and Gateworld. All four of those sites are truly fantastic, and just to be nominated along side them, whoa! Of course, them being fantastic means them's a-gonna win it!! Still, nice to be appreciated - and nice to be the underdog! Torchwood is itself nominated for a number of awards - here's what they are, and who they're up against! BEST ACTOR/Television Jensen Ackles, Supernatural John Barrowman, Torchwood Edward James Olmos, Battlestar Galactica Lee Pace, Pushing Daisies David Tennant, Doctor Who BEST ACTRESS/Television Freema Agyeman, Doctor Who Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies Mary McDonnell, Battlestar Galactica Eve Myles, Torchwood Sophia Myles, Moonlight BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR/Television James Callis, Battlestar Galactica Aaron Douglas, Battlestar Galactica Michael Emerson, Lost Burn Gorman, Torchwood Michael Hogan, Battlestar Galactica BEST EPISODE/Television Blink, Doctor Who Exit Wounds, Torchwood Faith, Battlestar Galactica The Great Leap Forward, The 4400 He That Believeth In Me, Battlestar Galactica BEST GUEST STAR/Television Michelle Forbes, Battlestar Galactica, Razor Derek Jacobi, Doctor Who, Utopia James Marsters, Torchwood, Exit Wounds John Simm, Doctor Who, Sound of Drums George Takei, Heroes, Four Month Ago You can vote for the site and for the series itself (if you think either deserve to win!) by clicking here. In 'proper' news the latest issue of Torchwood the Official Magazine confirms that a CD soundtrack from Torchwood's first two full series (with music arranged by Murray Gold and Ben Foster) will be released later this year. Doctor Who Online have a preview of the second wave of Torchwood action figures - or more specifically, of Wave 2's "Blowfish" toy. You can see it by clicking here. Wave 1 of Sci-Fi Collector's new range includes four figures - Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, the Cyberwoman and a Weevil. Captain John Hart, Ianto Jones, the Blowfish and one other unannounced figure make up the second wave. You can view a spoiler-packed preview of Saturday's "The Stolen Earth" by clicking here (the link takes you over to sister site Sarah-Jane.tv - woo, plug!). The cross promotion is worth it... Captain Jack flirts with Sarah Jane! Have a great one, guys and gals! | ||
