| Posted: 19 Oct 2009 06:12 PM PDT If you weren't already aware, Eleventh Doctor Who actor Matt Smith has a dedicated official site - www.mattsmithofficial.com - and while it is still "under construction" there is an open discussion forum. There's also a bit of information available such as contact details and Matt's biography. We're slightly puzzled though as to how long this has taken - with a casting announcement on New Year's Day, Mr Smith's "people" have had almost 11 months to sort out a web presence... | ||

| Posted: 19 Oct 2009 09:15 AM PDT First off, before we enter SPOILER terrority, can I just remind you that a certain Miss Yasmin Paige was on our television screens this fine October evening? She was part of ITV's Murderland, starring alongside Hagrid himself Robbie Coltrane (or Fitz Cracker, if you'd much prefer...) in a murder mystery told through three very different perspectives...
You can catch episode one of the three part mini-series on ITVPlayer now. | ||
| News: Vote Doctor Who in SFX Awards Posted: 19 Oct 2009 09:15 AM PDT Top sci fi magazine SFX is currently running a poll for their annual awards - and there's plenty of Doctor Who related entries to vote on! Vote for Doctor Who in the Best TV Show category, for Planet of the Dead or The Next Doctor in the Best TV Episode section - or even Torchwood: Children of Earth Day 5. Dervla Kirwan (Miss Hartigan in The Next Doctor) and Torchwood's Eve Myles are nominated for your votes in the Best Actress category (although I went for Ashes to Ashes' Keeley Hawes)... | ||

| Posted: 19 Oct 2009 07:50 AM PDT LOVE IS IN THE AIR IN DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE 414! In an exclusive behind-the-scenes report, we chat to the cast and crew of The Sarah Jane Adventures about The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith ... which guest stars David Tennant as the Doctor! What can Sarah Jane herself, actress Elisabeth Sladen, tell us about the story? "Some of it's quite sad. I can't read these scripts too often because they absolutely make me cry. If I do that too much, there won't be any emotion left for on set... | ||

| Posted: 19 Oct 2009 12:07 AM PDT Telegraph blogger James Delingpole has likened the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams to Doctor Who's own Reverend Magister - the evil Time Lord himself, the Master. Clarified by his colleague Damien Thompson, it seems that the press are launching the opening salvo against the man in charge of the Anglican church and doing so by comparing Dr Williams to the Master. It was in 1971's The Daemons in which the Master disguised himself as the Reverend Magister in the south west town of... | ||

| Posted: 18 Oct 2009 10:24 PM PDT Another great sub-genre of Doctor Who on YouTube is taking stories from the classic series and making "Next Time" teasers in the style of the new series. The best of these are City of Death and The Web Planet, but they have embedding switched off so you'll just have to visit them. Here's one for The Caves of Androzani… | ||

| Posted: 18 Oct 2009 08:51 PM PDT Kopic sincerely apologises, especially to younger readers, for any unwholesome content that has been picked up by Kopic's news'bots recently. It seems that "Torchwood" is now a word that they use in their attempts to get past filters and to be picked up by otherwise innocent online searches. Kopic is attempting to improve his filtering mechanisms to compensate. | ||
