| Posted: 10 Jan 2011 10:23 AM PST 2|Entertain have reported via their Classic Series twitter feed that two commentaries are due to be recorded in London this coming Sunday. The two remaining original TARDIS travellers William Russell (Ian Chesterton) and Carole Ann Ford (Susan) will be reunited to record the commentary for First Doctor adventure The Sensorites, whilst Third Doctor tale Colony in Space will feature Katy Manning (Jo Grant) alongside (then) assistant floor manager Graeme Harper. Both recording sessions will see additional reflections from other, as yet unnamed, guests. As usual, this announcement should not be taken as an indication of the stories coming out on DVD imminently, as commentaries are often recorded way in advance of release to take advantage of the commentators' availability! | ||

| Video: Jacqueline Hill Preview Posted: 10 Jan 2011 07:36 AM PST Thanks to the new BBCClassicDoctorWho channel on YouTube, we now have a first look at 2entertain's upcoming DVD release of the Tom Baker classic Meglos, which featured Jacqueline Hill, better known as original co-companion Barbara Wright, in a guest-starring role as Lexa, leader of the Deons of Tigella. Embedded below is a sneak preview clip of Jacqueline Hill – A Life In Pictures, a bonus documentary that will be found in full on the Meglos DVD. This fascinating excerpt provides insight to Jacqueline's time off from acting while raising her kids, her difficulties as a middle-aged woman returning to the screen, and what it was like for her to work with Tom Baker instead of William Hartnell… Fascinating! A two-minute segment of a documentary can really reveal quite a bit about the life of an actress, can't it? See it in full with the Meglos DVD (and see the full list of extras), out today in the UK (available to order now from Amazon for just £12.99) and tomorrow in the US! | ||

| Comic Crossovers and Simpsons Salutes Posted: 10 Jan 2011 02:33 AM PST Have your news capacitors burnt out? Looking for a little cloud of nonsense to float away on before the obsessive gene kicks in again and you start squirrelling away your time on facts, facts, facts? Well then, let your eyeballs rest on these comic crossovers from the Whoniverse: Doctor Vs Doctor Okay, so this isn't the long awaited punch-up between McCoy and Baker, rather it's everyone's favourite Time Lord facing up to Latveria's finest, Doctor Victor Von Doom! For anyone not versed in Doomology, Marvel's Supervillian, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962, first appeared in Fantastic Four #5- a genius inventor and a dabbler in the black arts, Von Doom has crossed over many titles and fought various superheroes (including making a slave of The Incredible Hulk ) on his quest for ultimate power. So where does the Doctor fit in with Von Doom's diabolical plans? Or is this yet another one of Victor's robot doubles fooling the universes sharpest mind? Only your imagination can tell… The artwork was a commission piece by Evan "Doc" Shaner. WHOsdays to Remember
The likenesses are great, as usual, and complete a sterling (if not copyright taunting) set of designs – I doff my lucky red fez to him. (via DoctorWhoTV) | ||
