Ever been to a website called BroaDWcast? It's a Doctor Who related website that deals specifically with overseas broadcast dates for Doctor Who episodes.

The site offers a multitude of goodies for fans wanting to know some interesting factoids about their favourite show including all the countries that Doctor Who has aired in since 1964, foreign language episode titles and even images of TV listings from foreign magazines and newspapers.

As related by the Doctor Who news page, the BroaDWcast has recently updated to include information on broadcasting of the classic series of Doctor Who abroad in places such as Nigeria, Japan, Netherlands and Canada which was one of the first countries in the world to screen Doctor Who (after the UK of course).

The website itself is simple yet effective. Easy to use, and everything grouped together exactly as you would wish to find it. Stores are easy to locate and the information that is available is at your fingertips straight away.

Totter's Lane Revisited

Posted: 07 May 2011 07:01 AM PDT

It seems fantastically mundane that Doctor Who, a programme that spans galaxies and centuries, began its fantastic voyage in a darkened corner of a London scrapyard, but back in 1963 An Unearthly Child crept alongside a working bobby towards a strangely placed policeman's box in I. M. Foreman's yard.

But it's these two elements that Neil Gaiman (The Graveyard Book) wanted to revisit in his upcoming episode The Doctor's Wife.

The renowned fantasist told SFX that his much anticipated episode will take the Doctor back to his roots (a place it hadn't returned to since the Sixth Doctor serial Attack of the Cybermen):

"[It's set on] a junkyard planet. If I can't actually take them back to Totter's Lane, then I can take them back to somewhere which I described in the script as 'the Totter's Lane at the edge of the universe'."

Gaiman added that the origins of his episode came from 'a desire to go further into the TARDIS than we'd been before', cryptically adding that his idea was one that 'you're only allowed to do once'.

David (Still) Isn't Your Lawyer

Posted: 07 May 2011 05:45 AM PDT

This might seem like old news but thanks to a bit of crossed wires at The Belfast Telegraph there's been a bit of confusion over who's lawyer David Tennant actually is.

As you may recall the former Tenth Doctor was set to become a household name in the US when the pilot episode of Rex is Not Your Lawyer, about Rex Alexander, a top Chicago lawyer crippled by anxiety who coaches his clients into representing themselves, was drafted as a series in the crab-shoot that is cable network sweeps.

Unfortunately no network deemed the show worthy of a whole series – leaving it as a bit of an oddly accented oddity in Tennant's career.

Now The Belfast Telegraph in an interview with Tennant's Rex co-star and lead in the Vegas based Lawyer series The Defenders, Jerry O'Connell,  has seemingly given Tennant a role in his new show.

O'Connell took the time out from chatting about the recent Stand By Me 25th Anniversary reunion to praise the work of Tennant and its influnce on his own approach to all things Court- based in The Defenders:

"Man, he is great. He's just really good at what he does. It's funny, we both played lawyers in the show that we did. To be honest I stole a lot of stuff that I'm doing in my show from watching him."

Only the paper got their wires crossed and gave Tennant a role in The Defenders - much to the confusion of its writer Roger Crow who was contacted by @David_Tennant to get to the bottom of this secret guest star role:
Thanks @RogerCrow who wrote article in Belfast Telegraph:

"They interpreted it wrong. O'Connell was inspired by David Tennant's work on Rex"

So there you have it. David and Rex aren't your lawyers but Jerry O' Connell is…

Companion Spoiler?

Posted: 06 May 2011 10:01 PM PDT

It's not exactly the big news that the departure of Billie Piper was, leaking out months before the fact, but with the casting of Karen Gillan as Jean Shrimpton in an upcoming BBC biopic and now the news that Arthur Darvill is gearing up to play Mephistopheles in an upcoming production of Doctor Faustus at the Globe Theatre, the question has to be: who's next?

As much as we like adore Karen Gillan, Amy Pond without Rory just wouldn't be right, and there is every chance that now Doctor Who Series 6 has wrapped both Gillan and Darvill could be looking for long-term projects elsewhere.

Obviously we don't know what is going to happen in episode 13; it isn't likely to air until November time, but with a new series probably shooting from June/July expecting both Karen and Arthur to be available for Doctor Who while taking part in their respective new projects doesn't seem feasible.

So – is a new companion imminent for the Doctor? Has he or she already been cast as an "incidental" character in the series finale?

We'll have to wait and see…
