Francavilla's Series 6 Sketches

Posted: 19 Jun 2011 06:19 AM PDT

Francesco Francavilla, the fantastic comic book artist behind such work as Zorro, The Green Hornet and the upcoming Detective Comics issue #781-including a Commissioner Gordon co-feature between himself and acclaimed writer Scott Synder (American Vampire) has been putting his talent to Doctor Who.

Francavilla has been blogging his artwork responses to the series as it aired in the States and the work is absolutely gob smacking. He was clearly very moved by The Doctor's Wife and A Good Man Goes to War, not to mention the rest of Series 6!

The black and white interpretations of everything from the Gangers to the Doctor himself recall classic 1960's movie posters and the work of Comic Artist David Mazzucchelli (Batman: Year One) and are all the more amazing that they only took Francesco 10-15 minutes to do!

Be sure to check each one out -  they're well worth it!

(Thanks to Matt)
