Posted: 15 Sep 2011 07:30 AM PDT Cometh the hour, cometh the Rory! Arthur Darvill has been talking up the ever dependable Rory and the not so dependable Doctors relationship and the real 'bond' the two characters share. Speaking to Newsarama Darvill re-emphasised just how when called upon Rory can make that crucial difference – it's Rory, the super-sub!
The Peter Crouch of the TARDIS believes that the three lead's in this half of the season in particular have really upped there game. He also added that he could perhaps one day see the gaffer reunite all the companions however his idea of what would make scintillating Saturday night TV differs slightly from the rest of us:
Doctor Who continues this Saturday with The God Complex on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in (that's right!) America.

Barrowman: Managing Expectations Posted: 15 Sep 2011 06:28 AM PDT John Barrowman has recently admitted that although the temptation may be there, he has never slept with a fan or a groupie. Talking with the Metro newspaper, the actor and singer and presenter said that it was not something that he could do:
Barrowman seems to be one of those celebrities that although he is extroverted and personable in front of the camera, prefer to lead a quiet life behind it. Do we ever see a shock-and-revelation story about the actor in a tabloid newspaper? The answer is no. This is because he does appear to come across as totally committed to his partner and their private life, which is very refreshing in the twenty first century where he is surrounded by quite a few celebrities that clearly enjoy that lifestyle (never, of course, naming any names!).
The thought of him at a Doctor Who stand, nervously asking for Colin Baker's autograph whilst wearing a Stargate SG1 T-shirt is one that can't help but make you laugh!

Posted: 15 Sep 2011 05:33 AM PDT BBC America site Anglophenia, that deals with all the celebrity interests of England is running a "best of British females 2011" vote to find out who the best lady of the UK is! Already in its second round (and with a surprising loss for Eve Myles), voting is still open for a whole host of beautiful Doctor Who women to grab the top spot. Karen Gillan, Billie Piper, Catherine Tate, Freema Agyeman and Alex Kingston are all battling it out against a whole host of other beauties including Helen Mirren, Helena Bonham Carter, Emma Watson, Adele and JK Rowling. The winner will be heralded alongside the current men's champion-Alan "Now I have a machine gun, ho-ho-ho" Rickman. Some of the Doctor Who girls are up against singers and other actresses but in one vote, you have to choose between Catherine Tate or Billie Piper. Sorry people, but that's the way that the world works sometimes! The votes are due to close very, very soon, so you might want to rush over to the site now and make your decisions. This is another great chance to give even more coverage to the great female talent that Britain has and for anyone in America who hasn't heard of these women to start paying attention! Head over to Anglophenia at BBC America to cast your vote now!

Dalek Collector gains Guinness World Record Posted: 14 Sep 2011 11:56 PM PDT ![]() Rob Hull, a 49 year from Hull in Yorkshire, is recognised for having the largest collection of the deadly assassins from Skaro, with a total of 571 models, collected over 20 years. The collection contains Daleks large and small including a 1.8 metre (6ft) lifesize replica model. He brought his first Dalek at 29 and has been collecting them ever since, despite not being a fan of Doctor Who. Hull's wife Dawn is not celebrating the record. I hate the bloody things and I've got a feeling this is only going to encourage him. Doctor Who, is already the holder of two Guinness World Records, having been named the Worlds Most successful sci-fi series in 2009 as well as being the Longest running sci-fi series. Last year Doctor Who Magazine was named as the world's Longest Running Magazine Based on a Television Series.

Back in August, the country went a little bit mad, deciding that burning buildings, kicking off at passing police and looting sunglasses from Primark was the way forward. Some soon found that there were consequences to their actions. Arrests, clips 'round the ear, and the delay of a certain Doctor Who DVD: A fire at the 20,000 sq m Sony warehouse in Enfield, North London that destroyed DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and Playstation games was, allegedly, started by three teenagers, during the riots. (Please, no jokes about misunderstanding the phrase 'burning a disc.') The arson attack affected many companies, including 2|entertain, the firm in charge of distributing BBC DVDs. The entire first run of Day of the Daleks has been completely destroyed, and, as such, copies of further batches have just started to trickle through onto the market. Of course, it hasn't helped the situation that 2|entertain have been less than forthcoming with this information, but at least they're starting to admit to it, perhaps hoping that fans will forget about the delay after the first extermination, or maybe on the viewing of the special feature, "The Cheating Memory". Yes, this whole situation is less than desirable, but Day of the Daleks is worth the wait… ('No, seriously, give me the DVD.') Day of the Daleks Special Edition was released on Monday, 12th September and despite the delays you can still order your copy from Amazon for just £12.93 – just don't expect to receive it within the usual timeframe…
