Kickabout with Corden

Posted: 06 Mar 2010 02:46 AM PST

James Corden and Matt Smith on location in Doctor Who 2010Gavin & Stacey star and writer James Corden has been snapped on location with Matt Smith over the past few days as filming on Doctor Who continues.

Photographed opening a door to the Eleventh Doctor, Corden's character was also seen running with series star Matt Smith as well as having a kickabout in a local park.

After being spotted on a train from London to Cardiff and learning lines a few weeks ago, Corden was rumoured to be appearing in Doctor Who, a fact finally confirmed in mid February.

An alleged show insider said at the time:

'Now he's not coming to Wales for Gavin And Stacey any more, it's pretty obvious why he is here.

'We're just delighted to have James on board. He is a great actor and he'll be a perfect fit for the new Doctor Who.'

The best news about all of this? It has to be that snaps featuring Corden and former promising footballer Matt Smith kicking a football aren't just "between-take" snaps - there is an actual football match in the episode! See more of these pics at SFX.co.uk.
