New Look for DWA

The new look Doctor Who Adventures?

BlogtorWho have revealed a sneak preview of the new look for Doctor Who Adventures - including the new series logo as the magazines banner title.

Doctor Who Magazine has already made the change away from the old "taxi" Doctor Who logo, and with a new show set to debut on April 3rd, Doctor Who Adventures certainly seem to be leaving things late!

All Doctor Who merchandise is slowly moving over to the new look logo, a change that will instantly date older toys, DVDs and books and affect their value for a few years as the series marches on with a bold new look and style.

Clearly designed to work in multiple configurations, the new Doctor Who logo is slowly becoming more and more prominent.

Time to embrace change, ladies and gentlemen…

Fourth Doctor on Big Finish?

Posted: 17 Mar 2010 12:15 AM PDT

The Fourth Doctor to return to audio with Big Finish?A post on the official forum of former Doctor Who Tom Baker has lead to an interesting response from the Great Man about a potential working relationship with Big Finish

Fans have been clamouring for a Big Finish appearance from Tom Baker for many years, and his reponse to the question has given renewed hope after recent events indicated that such an audio experience would never occur.

On the forum at www.tom-baker.co.uk, a poster named "sarah" asked:

It is still Tom baker's era on doctor who… They have asked you Tom, to help write the story and design the most terrifying enemy you can dream of facing as the doctor. You can take it as far as you like, create anything, a real thriller, scariest edge of your seat episode ever. because this is pretend modern day special effects also thrown into the deal. I would love to hear what you would do?

To which the former Fourth Doctor - who recorded a series of Doctor Who audio adventures for the BBC last year under the Hornet's Nest umbrella title - replied:

You might get your wish as I have agreed to do A Big Finish pruduction. They have accepted some of my thoughts and you'll be hearing about them, I guess.

Meanwhile Tom made similar comments in a recent interview with Doctor Who Online, when asked about the possibility of him recording with the producers of classic Doctor Who audio adventures:

"Perhaps I could give that a whirl… Maybe they'll listen to this and get in touch with me…so I'll think about the Big Finish…The Big Finish sounds terribly ominous at my age!".

Visit DWO to listen to their exclusive interview with Tom Baker.

Amy Pond is the New Jack?

Posted: 16 Mar 2010 11:20 PM PDT

Karen Gillan plays Amy Pond in Doctor Who - apparently she's promiscuous!Karen Gillan's interview and photoshoot in Grazia magazine has revealed a potentially staggering fact about new Doctor Who companion Amy Pond.

Describing Amy as "promiscuous" possibly tells us more about the character than we really need to know - but it's interesting how Gillan ends the statement.

"Amy is… it's fair to say she's quite promiscuous. And it's fair to say she's attracted to the Doctor."

Think about that - and then think about Captain Jack Harkness, Time Agent and Torchwood member, a clearly promiscuous character who is also attracted to the Doctor.

Could it be that we'll be seeing a lot of cheeky humour from Amy Pond in the new series of Doctor Who?

We've got just over two weeks to find out - Doctor Who returns to BBC One on Saturday, April 3rd!

Tom BakerAnswering questions on his official website, Fourth Doctor Tom Baker has said that he has agreed to record a Big Finish Audio production.

He replied that he has been in talks with Big Finish and that they have accepted some of his ideas. Baker recorded Hornets' Nest for BBC Audio last year, but has never worked for Big Finish before. Any project is likely to be in early stages of production and has not been confirmed by Big Finish.

Tom Baker is answering about 20 questions per month via his website. Questions need to be submitted via the forum on the website.  Please read the guidelines before posting.
