Posted: 18 May 2010 07:28 AM PDT Former Goodness Gracious Me and The Kumars at No. 42 star Meera Syal appears in the next episode of Doctor Who, The Hungry Earth. Recently she chatted with SFX, and they've published the interview on their website. Curiously there isn't very much to say about it – we find out that Syal's character, Dr Nasreen Chaudhry, is
…not to mention that…
Syal's character meets the Doctor, he apparently takes her with him as he tries to work out what is going on and presumably diffuse any antagonism between humans and Silurians. There really isn't anything shocking about the interview at all – other than the fact that Syal was born in 1961, and watched the series as a child:
…yet she wasn't aware of the Silurians!

If you're on Facebook, take a look here. Spitfire #1 is out in August!
