Torchwood UK Trailer

Posted: 02 Jul 2011 07:42 PM PDT

Just under two weeks until Torchwood hits the UK, although of course the series returns to North American screens much sooner than that, landing on Starz on Friday, 8th July.

As you can see from the BBC trailer below, Miracle Day looks fantastic, and if it looks as good as those that attended the preview screenings reported, we're in for a treat that should top Children of Earth!

You will see a lot of focus on the British-based actors in the clip above, such as John Barrowman (who also returns to BBC One on Saturday 9th July with a new series of his wish-fulfilment show), and this makes for an interesting comparison on how the show is marketed on either side of the Atlantic.

Epic Companion Infograph

Posted: 02 Jul 2011 05:34 PM PDT

Infographics- the fine art of distributing vast amounts of information in a colour coded, eye catching, anorak baiting style has again helped us to understand the finer points of the vast Whoinverse.

Eschewing the charity abomination that was Dimensions in Time and side stepping the Brigadiers appearance in Battlefield this fantastic infographic of the entire history of the Doctors companions currently doing the works on Geeks of Doom has turned the canon into can do!

Although you may grumble about the graph not even paying lip service to Big Finish continuity- seriously if they did you it would be twice the size and unreadable- it's a great reminder of just how the companions have shaped the Doctors world and how they've gone from being 'space pilots' 'Sevateem tribe-women' to 'London secretary' and 'airline stewardess' as the show has evolved.

In that long and lustrous history there are always those who deserve a special mention for outstanding feats such as Most Episodes for Jamie McCrimmon (Frazer Hines) and one for Rory Williams for, well, dying a whole bunch of times.

Hurrah!

The whole thing is amazing and looks like it should be hung in classrooms around the world.

(Big thanks to Mu!)
