| Steven says Jack's return requires “a good story” Posted: 31 Jul 2011 03:58 AM PDT Steven Moffat has admitted that he'd only consider bringing Captain Jack back to Doctor Who if the plot required it. While John Barrowman has been open about his desire to return to the series, the showrunner has told TVLine that it all depends on the circumstances of the story. "When we've got a good story, we'll [...] | ||

| TV Icon Befriends Mass Murdering Fascist! Posted: 30 Jul 2011 10:56 PM PDT When not ambulance chasing all the disgruntled NI readers in a desperate attempt paint itself as a paragon of virtue the Daily Mail likes, on occasions, to miss the point – especially when it comes to the BBC whom it pathologically loathes. So imagine the joy that sang from the heart of Daily Mail Reporter (ah Mr. and Mrs. Daily Mail Reporter must be proud of their son/daughter when they see that by-line) when they got to write up a story about how Doctor Who was busy BFF-ing Adolf Hitler. Their evidence stems from the recently released San Diego Comic Con Trailer where Hitler thanks the Doctor for saving his life. 'What a wheeze' it must have thought when ignoring the facts like the Grandfather Paradox or the 1934 Daily Mail headline which proudly boasted 'Hurrah for the Blackshirts' – incidentally I'm including a link to show that it was an actual person who was not in anyway totally made up like say this quote from 'One Viewer' :
The controversy will no doubt reign on over the next… oh wait:
The controversy is over! Doctor Who doesn't join in the chorus of Springtime for Hitler and instead, attempts to dramatise the show's long held belief in the absolute nature of certain periods of history with a sense of humour clearly lacking at the Mail. A BBC source said :
That's right viewers: don't let the controversy that lasted 221 words get in the way of your enjoyment says the pot stirring Mail. Whatever the outcome of the fabulously titled Let's Kill Hitler lets not let knee-jerk agenda setting nonsense ruin what promises to be an epic episode. | ||
| Posted: 30 Jul 2011 10:28 PM PDT Every American Doctor Who fan has a story to tell, and fans of the iconic British television show love to tell stories. All of them, from casual viewer to hardcore fanatic, will happily regale others with the tale of how and when they discovered the greatest science fiction media franchise ever. The majority of the first dedicated American Who fans first met the Doctor in the early 1980s, nearly twenty years after the show began in 1963…but the story of Doctor Who in America, a fascinating, complex and influential journey into pop culture, stretches much farther back... RED WHITE AND WHO is a chronological narrative of the history of Doctor Who – and its fandom – in the United States, incorporating rare illustrative material, and interviews with and essays by some of the key people who laid the groundwork for the fandom in which we participate today. The editors are looking for American fans who can contribute to the book, and have provided several ways to get in touch:
