Let's Kill Hitler! Preview

Posted: 18 Aug 2011 05:22 AM PDT

Doctor Who Series 6 finally returns at 7.10pm on Saturday, August 27th with Let's Kill Hitler!, an unforgettable title that sees the Doctor and friends visiting the Third Reich leader in 1930s Germany.

The BBC's official programme copy is as follows:

In the desperate search for Melody Pond, the TARDIS crash lands in Thirties Berlin, as the time-travelling drama returns for the second half of the series shown earlier in the year.

The Doctor comes face to face with the greatest war criminal in the Universe. And Hitler.

Old friendships are tested to their limits as the Doctor suffers the ultimate betrayal and learns a harsh lesson in the cruellest warfare of all. As precious time ebbs away, the Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities. And he must succeed before an almighty price is paid.

As always, the Doctor is played by Matt Smith, with guest star Albert Welling as Hitler. Amy Pond and Rory are played by Karen Gillan and the much admired Arthur Darvill.

We've also got a couple of clips, uploaded by those great chaps at DoctorWhoTV. Now, you might want to skip these as you'll be finding out something very interesting (how did they keep THAT quiet?) and possibly putting two and two together if watch them both…

As well as all of that, you probably want to take a look at some images. Note that these might give something away that you don't want to see until the show is aired, so scroll down with care!

The Middle Men Preview

Posted: 18 Aug 2011 04:21 AM PDT

After last week's stunning cliffhanger, Torchwood continues this week as the full scale of the Miracle becomes increasingly clearer…

Oswald Danes fans beware, however – apparently Bill Pullman will be pretty hard to spot in this week's episode, The Middle Men, as John Barrowman comes to the fore as Captain Jack Harkness.

With Gwen, Rex and Esther trapped on both sides of the Atlantic, Jack faces a race against time as he goes straight to the heart of the conspiracy.

Frankly, if this isn't one of the best scenes from the entire series so far (steady…) then it's certainly up there…

Meanwhile, we've got the usual photos from The Middle Men, which hopefully finally seens Torchwood going undercover and getting some results…

Fanwnak Issue#2 Out Now

Posted: 17 Aug 2011 11:55 PM PDT

The new issue of Fanwnak – a Doctor Who fanzine with a dosing of humour and a title that Google's search engine hates – is available now to order.

The issue comes complete with Fade Away a 10 page colour comic strip by Paul Hanley and Shawn Van Briesen which pays loving tribute to the late, great Nicholas Courtney as the Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart comes face to face with the Eleventh Doctor.

Also in the issue is another comic strip The Further Adventures of Mel and Glitz which has been written by PING from an idea by Scott Burditt with additional contributions by Grant Foxon and PING who also provides another "At Home with the Who's" strip.

The issue also comes with a rousing defence of husband and wife writing team Pip and Jane Baker by Matthew Holsman entitled (surprisingly) "Defending Pip and Jane Baker", a look at Who in the academic world by Matt Barber given the very serious sounding title of "Doctor Who Fans and Academia" and "How to Watch Old Doctor Who" and an attempt to settle on what we should call the second part of Series 6 in the annuls of continuity in David Carey's "6B or not 6B".

If that sounds like a lot of word soup don't worry there's also a free Tom Baker poster to gently massage your eye balls!

Also if you have an idea for an article, some stunning artwork or a comic strip that you'd like to see in print in the next issue of Fanwnak then get in touch and you too could get your name mentioned on Kasterborous – which let's face it will be the peak of your existence.

Fanwnak Issue #2 is available for £4.99 including P&P within the UK and £6.99 Internationally.

Is There a Market for Whovian Lingerie?

Posted: 17 Aug 2011 10:58 PM PDT

Ever wanted to lose weight or appear to have lost weight but do so whilst sporting some fine looking Doctor Who clothing?

Well now you finally can. Nerdlist.com has posted a picture of a TARDIS corset. That's a corset that actually looks like a TARDIS. And that's no joke.

For all you people who want to fit into that certain piece of clothing but just can't (it really shouldn't bother you, just be yourself) and also want to show the world, when you choose to, that you're a Doctor Who fan, then this could be the ultimate fashion accessory.

As the website does states:

"A corset's job is to make things that are bigger on the inside look smaller on the outside."

But still, don't get hung up about your weight.

It does inspire the question of what we could next expect to see in the Doctor Who range of sex accessories. Super strong Cybermen restraining kits, Sharez Jek gimp masks or maybe Super Voc shoes (that definitely did not begin life as Kleenex boxes).

Your answers on a postcard please…
