| Posted: 17 Aug 2011 06:03 AM PDT We're merely days away from the second half of Doctor Who Series 6 and the spoilers are starting to well and truly leak through! Well, spoilers may be a bit of a strong word but Matt Smith has definitely leaked some strong information as to what is happening in the remaining six episodes of the series, so if you want to know absolutely nothing, you better stop reading right about now. First up, River is back but her story is far from over, in fact it's only just beginning! Smith stated:
And as the trailer shows, she's sporting her very own mysterious eye patch, what's going to happen?! Mark Gatiss's new episode Night Terrors gets a mention; apparently the monsters in it are innovative to say the least:
And not only does James Cordon reprise his role as Craig from 2010's The Lodger, he also gets to face off against the Cybermen:
But the main thing that is yet to play out is the Eleventh Doctor's fate. Everyone saw him die in The Impossible Astronaut but will we see a resolution to this story arc or is the Doctor truly going to die in his eleventh incarnation. Matt is selective with his answer:
All this as well as a new costume for the Doctor and David Walliams? Role on August 27th! Doctor Who returns to BBC One on August 27th. | ||

| Coming Soon: Let's Kill Hitler Posted: 17 Aug 2011 02:58 AM PDT The Hitler theme continues on BBC2 after Doctor Who with Adolf Hitler vs Hans Litten: To Stop a Tyrant (8:00-9:00pm), a documentary that explores the story of Hans Litten, a young Jewish lawyer who challenged Hitler – and paid for it with his life. This documentary accompanies a BBC film about Litten to be shown this coming Sunday (21st, 9:00-10:25pm) on BBC2, The Man Who Crossed Hitler. Radio Times:The Doctor's frantic search for the infant Melody Pond takes him to 1930s Berlin, where he comes face to face with the most notorious war criminal in the universe. With conflict brewing in the background, the Time Lord prepares to teach his enemies that time travel comes with its fair share of responsibility.BBC Press Office:In the desperate search for Melody Pond, the TARDIS crash lands in Thirties Berlin, as the time-travelling drama returns for the second half of the series shown earlier in the year. The Doctor comes face to face with the greatest war criminal in the Universe. And Hitler. Old friendships are tested to their limits as the Doctor suffers the ultimate betrayal and learns a harsh lesson in the cruellest warfare of all. As precious time ebbs away, the Doctor must teach his adversaries that time travel has responsibilities. And he must succeed before an almighty price is paid. The BBC have now released a video featuring Karen Gillan discussing some of Amy and Rory's development during Let's Kill Hitler, plus two preview clips from the episode itself. | Does BBC Magazines Sale Mean Uncertainty for DWM? Posted: 17 Aug 2011 02:55 AM PDT Exponent Private Equity and BBC Worldwide have this week agreed a deal which will see BBC Magazines sold. The deal is part of a larger transaction involving the sale of BBC Magazines and the 50% stake BBC Worldwide has in Worldwide Media – a publishing venture which will now be fully owned by its former partner Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, owner of The Times of India – totalling in around £121 Million going back to the BBC. What's interesting is that Exponent will not only acquire a sales and licensing agreement for the publication of titles currently published by BBC Magazines like Doctor Who Adventures but also the right to print BBC affiliated titles under its licensing and contract arrangements. This currently includes the rights awarded to Panini to publish Doctor Who Magazine, and some fans have been left wondering just what this means to the most august sci-fi monthly. Where does Doctor Who Magazine fall under BBC Worldwide's definitions? The deal states that BBC Worldwide will not retain ownership of BBC programme-based titles like Gardeners World but will keep a strong continuing editorial interest under licensing agreements. However BBC Worldwide will still retain ownership of titles relating to key BBC brands such as Top Gear Magazine and will license those titles out to Exponent under contract publishing arrangements. As we know BBC Worldwide will now focus on International Video and Digital Media, with Doctor Who being one of those 'key BBC Brands' used to motivate interest in its ventures. Both Doctor Who titles have enjoyed an increase in circulation with ABC figures for Doctor Who Adventures in particular showing an impressive increase of 26.8% year on year, at 56,648 for the July-December period of 2010. So will DWM and DWA both be ring fenced by the deal? Or will Exponent have control of DWM's license and own DWA outright? As yet we don't know, but a further breakdown of the deal with be issued once the deal has received clearance from the Office of Fair Trading. In our opinion, BBC Worldwide is treating Doctor Who as a key brand, just as it does Top Gear; Doctor Who Magazine and Doctor Who Adventures will continue without any changes.

| Let's Kill Hitler - Start Time Confirmed Posted: 17 Aug 2011 12:40 AM PDT The start time is one of the latest for the programme since it returned in 2005, and brings the series into the heart of prime time Saturday night viewing. On BBC One Doctor Who will follow All New Celebrity Total Wipeout, a star-studded edition of the obstacle-course game show, and will be followed by The National Lottery: Secret Fortune. ITV 1 will be showing All Star family Fortunes during Doctor Who, featuring Former Birds of a Feather actress Pauline Quirke and broadcaster Jo Whiley. Their big hitter The X Factor begins a new series at 8pm, just as Doctor Who finishes, and BBC planners will be hoping that a substantial number of X Factor fans will turn to The Doctor as the build up to the talent show. BBC Two will offer The Normans as an alternative to Doctor Who with Professor Robert Bartlett travelling from Britain to Jerusalem. Those inspired to find out more about Hitler following his encounter with The Doctor can watch Adolf Hitler v Hans Litten: To Stop a Tyrant, on the channel from 8pm. Channel 4 offers Athletics in the form of day one of the IAAF World Championships while Five has Law & Order. Doctor Who returns to North America the same evening, showing on BBC America at 9ET and on SPACE at 8ET. Australia sees the episode a week later on 3rd September at 7.30pm on ABC1. | ||
