News: Mickey is Back

Posted: 18 Jun 2008 08:49 AM CDT

Appearing on BBC Breakfast News on Monday 16th June, Noel Clarke revealed that he would be returning for the series finale of Doctor Who! I was lucky to catch this on BBC Breakfast News on Monday as I'm normally not in front of the television at that time of day!  Anyway it seems Clarke, on the show to promote his second movie AdULTHOOD, was able to confirm his place in the lineup of the season 30 finale! While not a complete surprise, it adds some neatness to the impending threat that...

News: Davies OBE - Good for TV?

Posted: 18 Jun 2008 06:12 AM CDT

So the big man would have us believe. Talking to the BBC, "I'm delighted to accept, and I hope it does the whole industry a bit of good, for the writing of television drama to be recognised." A spokesman for the BBC commented: "We are delighted for Russell - he is one of this country's greatest writers and it is fantastic that his talent has been recognised in this way." Which is a fair point... until you consider that for 4 years of slagging off UK foreign policy...

News: Midnight Reaction

Posted: 18 Jun 2008 04:35 AM CDT

Episode 10 of season 30, Midnight, proved to be something of a diversion for Russell T Davies, being more akin to the work of Steven Moffat than New Earth. Starring David Tennant opposite Lesley Sharp and David Troughton among others, Midnight has proved to be quite divisive among fans. The best online review so far comes from The Stage, who reckon that the threat is more important than the backstory... It’s very hard to convey just what is so special about Midnight - the mechanics...

The first thing I have to report is that having sold out of issue one of Captain Britain and MI-13, we've just sold out issue two as well! So a second edition of that, with a Black Knight wraparound cover, will soon be on its way! That makes a total of five covers for two issues, which can't be bad.
