| Posted: 07 Jul 2011 07:05 AM PDT It's been quite a while since we've heard from the good Captain Jack. Sure, we saw the Tenth Doctor set him up with Midshipman Frame very, very briefly in The End of Time, Part Two but the last time we saw Jack was 2009 in Children of Earth and the last time he was part of a Doctor Who story was 2008 in Journey's End. Basically, it's about time that we saw the new TARDIS crew and Jack get together and save the world in style, which is exactly what John Barrowman is trying to get done at the BBC. The actor recently revealed that he is trying his hardest to get his beloved character Jack involved in an episode for the shows 50th anniversary in 2013 and all we can think is bring it on, because it wouldn't quite be the same celebration with Harkness there to flirt with Amy and make Rory feel that little bit intimidated. Speaking to magazine publication Woman's Own, Barrowman said:
Indeed we would and maybe if we're lucky and we get some other past Doctor's involved for the show's 50th, we could get John to do some of his flirting with some of the old regulars. Imagine Captain Jack meeting the Doctor's fourth incarnation, now that would be a ratings winner…

| Torchwood: Web of Lies - Part 1 Posted: 07 Jul 2011 05:51 AM PDT The first part of Torchwood: Web of Lies is now available to download for iOS devices via the US iTunes store. Players participate in a parallel narrative to the "Torchwood: Miracle Day" that delves deeper into the dramatic events which unfold in the TV series. "Torchwood: Web of Lies" includes lead characters Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper – voiced by John Barrowman and Eve Myles – AND introduces Eliza Dushku as the voice of Holly, a young woman intent on finding out what has happened to her brother and the world. Immerse yourself in the exciting world of Torchwood like never before as you crack codes, break locks and race across landscapes in search of the real truth behind Miracle Day. What happened to Jack and Gwen on that "missing day" back in 2007 - the day that neither remembers? Is it possible that a young, paranoid conspiracy theorist actually stumbled into the chilling truth and what it means for Miracle Day? The ONLY place to find out is in "Torchwood: Web of Lies." Torchwood: Web of Lies is written by HUGO award winner Jane Espenson and Ryan Scott and Executive Produced by Russell T Davies. This first FREE download gives you Episode 1 of Torchwood: Web of Lies. Then watch Torchwood: Miracle Day every week and return to the app the DAY AFTER for an opportunity to get a new episode of Web of Lies. Every episode includes more original story told through motion graphics AND new gameplay, culminating in a thrilling interactive finale in Episode 10. This application is made by BBC Worldwide. BBC Worldwide is a commercial company that is owned by the BBC. The profits BBC Worldwide make from it go back to BBC programme-makers to help fund great new BBC programmes. Episode 1 of Torchwood: Miracle Day, The New World, premieres on Friday 8th July on Starz at 10pm ET/PT. You can find the full schedule, including repeats at This Week In Doctor Who. | ||

| Let's Kill Hitler Synopsis Revealed Posted: 07 Jul 2011 05:06 AM PDT Only a couple of months to go now and then we can all find out what happens the Doctor and company in the mid season premiere for Doctor Who's sixth series, which is intriguingly entitled Let's Kill Hitler. We left the TARDIS crew last month dangling upon the cliffiest of cliff-hangers as River Song let loose certain revelations and the Doctor went on the hunt for missing Melody Pond. But we have no idea how events are going to be wrapped up in this particular two parter and what we're left with is a mass of ideas as to what's really going on. Speculation is rife and we Doctor Who fans love it. However, website TV Overmind has come across the synopsis for Let's Kill Hitler. That's right; we have a tantalising sneak peak at what's to come in autumn's run of Doctor Who. There's nothing to spoilerific about it but those of you who want to keep everything as a complete surprise may want to look away…….now.
Sounds great doesn't it? Steven Moffat coming full circle and putting "his" Doctor in the same time period that he placed the Ninth when he started writing for the show. But what does this all mean for the fate of Melody and River? You'll just have to wait until September to find out…

| Torchwood: Miracle Day - Press Pack Posted: 07 Jul 2011 04:15 AM PDT The BBC Press Office have issued a Press Pack for Torchwood: Miracle Day. The pack kicks off with a 5-minute introduction interview with John Barrowman:
The highly anticipated series of Torchwood – Miracle Day, starring John Barrowman and Eve Myles, starts on Thursday 14 July on BBC One. The new series created by Russell T Davies welcomes Mekhi Phifer, Bill Pullman and Alexa Havins, plus recurring guest stars Arlene Tur and Lauren Ambrose. One day, nobody dies. All across the world, nobody dies. And then the next day, and the next, and the next, people keep aging – they get hurt and sick – but they never die. The result: a population boom, overnight. With all the extra people, resources are finite. It's said that in four months' time, the human race will cease to be viable. But this can't be a natural event – someone's got to be behind it. It's a race against time as CIA. agent Rex Matheson investigates a global conspiracy. The answers lie within an old, secret British institute. As Rex keeps asking "What is Torchwood?" he's drawn into a world of adventure, and a threat to change what it means to be human, forever. + Interview with Russell T Davies + Interview with Julie Gardner + Interview with John Barrowman + Interview with Lauren Ambrose [Source: BBC Press Office]
| Torchwood: Barrowman, Aliens & Anwen Posted: 07 Jul 2011 04:04 AM PDT Have you had enough of John Barrowman yet? No, well you're in luck because here's yet another interview. This one covers a lot of the same ground, but he does address the question of whether aliens might make an appearance (we'll have more on that soon).
